Research & Outreach
Natural Resource Economics
Natural resource economics combines finance and economics with the production and dynamics of timber production, wildlife management, carbon sequestration, clean water, and forest recreation. Our mission is to improve the equity, efficiency, and sustainability of forest ecosystem services to society.
Vision
Finding socially acceptable and economically efficient solutions to improve the sustainability and health of forest ecosystems
Projects
- Enabling landscape-scale forest restoration by expanding private landowner participation in programs certifying sustainable forestry
- Assessing the economic value of ecosystem restoration on national forests in Arkansas and Missouri
- Facilitating forest markets for biofuels, small-diameter trees, and tall wood buildings
- Developing efficient and resilient forest product supply chains
- Expanding markets for forest carbon sequestration, wildlife, water production, and recreation
