About Us

The Arkansas Forest Resources Center is dedicated to advancing and preserving the sustainability of forest-based natural resources through research and extension programs. As a partnership between the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the University of Arkansas at Monticello, the Center connects interdisciplinary experts from across the state to enhance forestry practices in Arkansas.

Faculty and staff associated with the center have wide-ranging areas of expertise, including but not limited to forest health and conservation, forestry economics and policy, remote sensing and geographic information systems, soil health and wildlife management.

Headquartered at the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus, the center’s impact extends statewide, making a lasting difference in the management and preservation of our invaluable forest resources.

Research initiatives are conducted through the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, while extension activities are coordinated through the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, the research and outreach arms of the Division of Agriculture. Academic programs are delivered via the College of Forestry, Agriculture, and Natural Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
